Composite & Amalgam Fillings
Cavities develop at all ages, and a cavity left untreated can damage the tooth. At KidSmile Dental, we protect the tooth with composite fillings, which is a tooth-colored mix of plastic and glass to protect the tooth from further damage. Amalgam fillings, traditionally known as silver fillings, is a mixture of mercury, copper, silver and tin to create a very stable, durable tooth. These fillings will prevent bacteria from getting into the tooth and spreading decay. We are very gentle with our procedures and are conscientious of your child’s comfort during their treatment.
Kids can develop tooth decay when they eat too many sugary foods and they don’t clean their teeth as thoroughly as they should. However, sometimes tooth decay comes down to genetics and some kids may simply be more prone to cavities than others. When tooth decay has damaged a tooth, it’s important to restore the tooth with a supportive dental crown. By protecting your kids’ teeth at an early age, you ensure their oral development is protected too!
Protect your child’s teeth with restorative care
If your kids have tooth decay or another dental problem, they may need to have their tooth extracted. We know this might sound scary, but tooth extractions are straightforward and with our safe sedation options, your child will be completely comfortable. Dr. Blake has long-term experience helping children who have dental anxiety, and his relaxed and calm approach will put your kids at ease.
If restorative care is needed, KidSmile Dental is fully equipped to restore your children’s dental health. By taking care of your kids’ oral health at an early age, you are ensuring they have a lifetime of healthy smiles. Our sedation options for kids includes nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia.
We want to make sure visiting the dentist is a good experience for children, as it ensures they will not be afraid of their dental appointments as they get older. Making your kids comfortable during their visit is very important to us!
